Not every lift is a rooftop AC unit on a strip mall. This week one of our boom trucks spent the morning inside the Xcel Energy power plant in Boulder, Colorado, setting a condenser for a server room on the plant site.

Power plants are a different kind of job. You are working around live utility infrastructure, with tight lanes between buildings, overhead lines and pipe racks.

Industrial and utility sites are a regular part of our week. Mechanical contractors call us to set condensers, rooftop units, exhaust fans, and electrical gear at plants, water facilities, data rooms, and warehouses across the Front Range. We bring the crane, the rigging, and an operator who has done it before, so your crew can keep working instead of waiting on the lift.

What we need from you before a plant job

  • The weight and size of what we are picking, and where it sets.
  • Any site badging, safety orientation, or insurance paperwork the facility requires. We have done this for Xcel and other utilities and can usually turn the paperwork around fast.
  • A photo or two of the setup area. Gravel, slopes, and overhead lines all change where we park the truck.

With that we can tell you right away whether one of our trucks can make the pick and what it will cost. No call center, the person who picks up the phone knows the trucks.

Bill Boom Inc has been running boom trucks out of Englewood since 1965, and Boulder, Longmont, Broomfield, and the rest of the north metro are a regular run for us. Have a condenser, a rooftop unit, or any other lift coming up at a plant, a substation, or an industrial site? Call (303) 761-2666 or use the contact form and we will call you back.
